Cardiff is placed 4th out of the UK’s major cities in relation to the number of people qualified to a degree level or equivalent (NVQ Level 4). Despite a fall this year, it is above the UK average and well above the Wales average. This means that people in Cardiff are well-educated and have a good chance of fulfilling their potential. Having a highly skilled population is recognised as a driver for economic success with successful cities placing a strong emphasis on developing, attracting and keeping highly skilled people in the city.
